What is Beasiswa Garuda?
Beasiswa Garuda is a fully funded undergraduate scholarship program initiated by the Indonesian government as part of the Sekolah Garuda ecosystem. The scholarship aims to expand access to world-class higher education for talented Indonesian students, particularly those with outstanding academic potential who aspire to contribute to Indonesia’s future in science, technology, innovation, and leadership. The program is funded through the Education Endowment Fund (LPDP) and managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
The scholarship covers not only tuition fees but also various supporting expenses, allowing students to focus on their academic journey without worrying about financial barriers.
Who Can Apply to Beasiswa Garuda?
While the official requirements may vary each year, applicants generally need to:
- Be an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
- Be a Grade 12 student (SMA/SMK/MA).
- Demonstrate excellent academic performance.
- Be eligible for SNBP.
- Meet the English language requirements for the target university (such as IELTS or TOEFL).
- Have an SAT Score
- Fulfill any additional requirements specified by the scholarship committee or destination university.
